Everyone who will apply for positions in public authorities or local self-government in the future will have to prove their knowledge of the state language. This was announced by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin on the Rada TV channel.
"On July 16, 2021, the norm of law will come into force that every candidate for a position in public authorities or local self-government must pass an examination for the level of proficiency in the Ukrainian language in accordance with the new standards developed by the National Commission on State Language Standards," he said.
"That is, all those who intend to become a People's Deputy in the next convocation, who want to work as a minister or, say, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, must prove their knowledge of the Ukrainian language at the exam," Taras Kremin explained.
"If there is an intention to apply for any positions, either - prepare, hire teachers, or - I'm sorry, as they say," - said the Commissioner.
