These days, as traditionally before the beginning of the new academic year, educators of Ukraine hold the All-Ukrainian August Сonference.  

This year the event is held under the name "Education Unites" and raises extremely important topics of the educational process, which will once again take place in conditions of war.

Under such circumstances, on the shoulders of the army of educators, who, regardless of circumstances, continue to perform an important mission, there is a considerable responsibility not only for the organization of the educational process, but also for strengthening the foundations of Ukrainian statehood. Therefore, compliance with the legislation on the state language in war conditions is one of the key tasks. 

Let me remind you that the mandatory using of Ukrainian in the educational process is enshrined in several Laws of Ukraine: "On Education", "On Complete General Secondary Education", "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language", which determine that the language of the educational process is the state language and require the provision of all educational services in Ukrainian.

Unfortunately, the Secretariat of the Commissioner continues to receive appeals from citizens regarding violations of language legislation by individual pedagogical, scientific, and pedagogical staff of educational institutions.  

Thus, only in the first half of 2023, 206 such appeals were received. According to the results of 7 months by the number of state controls, the education sector shared the third place with local self-government bodies and websites that violate the language legislation.

Therefore, ensuring the rights of children to study in the state language, as well as improving the quality of teaching and creating safe conditions for all participants in the educational process, is a priority for the coming academic year.
