Ukraine should become a member of the European Federation of National Institutions for Language (EFNIL). This was told by the State Language Protection Commissioner Taras Kremin on-air of Priamyi TV channel.
"Since my appointment I have been working to make Ukraine a member of the European Federation of National Institutions for Language. We have the intent to succeed and I take all measures to ensure that Ukraine is represented in EFNIL at the level of associate membership. I want to believe that by the end of the year, with the Government’s assistance, Ukraine will become a member of this language pool in order to shape a strategy to protect the Ukrainian language as the EU future language at the European level", - Taras Kremin said.
The Commissioner noted that the previous week he had taken part in the EFNIL online session at which Ukraine had been represented for the first time in the history of the federation.
"EFNIL membership will give Ukraine an opportunity to shape a strategy to protect the Ukrainian language as the EU future language", - Taras Kremin emphasized.
