The State Language Protection Commissioner Taras Kremin addressed the heads of the European language institutions - members of the European Federation of National Institutions for Language (EFNIL). According to the Commissioner, "the community has promised to make every effort to continue to put pressure on their governments to increase sanctions against Russia and demands to promote Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO. Thank you, friends!", Taras Kremin’ said.
In its response, EFNIL states that the EU member states are extremely shocked and appalled by the terrible and inexcusable attack on Ukraine.
“As language institutions, there is not much we can do in a war, but we can try to support our Ukrainian colleagues in every possible way, and furthermore, stress the fact that peaceful understanding is possible even if we speak different languages”, the letter states.
