On September 26, the State Language Protection Commissioner Taras Kremin opened free Ukrainian language courses at Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University.
He emphasized that these were the first courses financed from the budget of the Kirovohrad region for the implementation of the program for the development and functioning of the Ukrainian language in the Kirovohrad region for 2022-2027 approved by the Regional Council last year.
"One of the leading Ukrainian universities, which is happy to help its first students, is among the performers of the program which includes providing access to free courses, monitoring violations of legislation in the field of using the state language, and conducting events aimed at its popularization," Taras Kremin said.
He noted that such courses met the demands of society to master the state language. This is the first example of close cooperation between the community of the region and the state university. "In the conditions of a full-scale invasion, a huge number of internally displaced persons will have the experience of mastering both Ukrainian and the pages of the history, culture, and traditions of the region, which presented the world with the constellation of the theater of luminaries like M. Kulish, E. Malaniuk, Y. Yanovsky, H. Kostyuk", the Commissioner said.
"Mastering the Ukrainian language and being fluent in it is the duty of every citizen. Let's have more such courses, organized in tandem with local authorities and universities," Taras Kremin stressed.
