The Secretariat of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language will respond to all complaints of citizens regarding violations of the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” by officials, including high-ranking officials. This was stated by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin on Channel 4.
"I am very pleased that our officials are either under the influence of the language law, or by the appearance of the Commissioner, or under the pressure that children are already starting to laugh at some high-ranking officials, but are starting to speak Ukrainian not only in the Parliament, but also in their public speeches,” he said.
As for violations of the language law by government officials, violations of the right of citizens to receive information and services in the state language, recorded either in appeals or complaints, we will certainly respond to them regardless of position," Taras Kremlin said. The penalty for violations of language legislation will be applied from July 16, 2022.
The Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language also noted that from 2021 the National Commission for State Language Standards, which was also established under the Law on Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language. It will begin a series of state exams for top-level Ukrainian officials. “Such exams will be for all officials without exception. June next year will be a kind of rubicon for those high-ranking
