According to the provisions of Article 3 of the Law on the State Language, one of its tasks is to promote the study of the Ukrainian language in Ukraine and abroad, to promote the spread of the Ukrainian language in the world, to assist in meeting the language needs of Ukrainians living abroad.
International support for Ukraine in our fight against russian aggression has contributed to a significant increase in the interest of both foreigners and our citizens in mastering the Ukrainian language. Communicating in the language of the heroic people has become prestigious, noble and fashionable. So we observe a fierce interest in our history, culture, and education. Let us not forget that, according to recent legislative changes, the basis for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship is a sufficient level of proficiency in the state language, the history of Ukraine, and the basic principles of the Constitution. Thus, the Ukrainian state should adequately respond to this request and ensure favorable conditions.
“The implementation of this task requires the unification of the necessary efforts. It is extremely important to ensure access to language courses, relevant educational programs, and Ukrainian studies at the leading universities of the world, thereby increasing Ukraine's presence in the international arena. I have prepared an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian World Congress to comprehensively implement the norms of the language law. Best prospects - to language diplomacy !” Taras Kremin said.
