Investigations of the facts of linguocide at the occupied territories testify about the attempts of the occupiers to destroy the Ukrainian language in all spheres of public life. Taras Kremin stated it for the TV Channel "24".
"Recently, we published the results of our mini-investigation regarding the russian policy of linguocide at the occupied territories as an element and a key method of dismantling the constitutional system of Ukraine and an element of genocide against the Ukrainian people. We’ve come to completely predictable conclusions: in all spheres of public life, wherever possible, the Ukrainian language is being destroyed," he said.
According to Taras Kremin, such blatant facts as the persecution and humiliation of Ukrainian language’s speakers at the occupied territories, the changing of signs, the destruction of television towers, the removal of children, etc. "exceed even the limits of genocide, which is recognized as the greatest crime against humanity, if we talk about the consequences of the Second World War ".
The Commissioner also told about the facts of collaborationism and treason at the occupied territories. "Recently, I’ve been stunned by the information that the director of one of the schools closely cooperated with the russian subversive intelligence group, transmitting data on the movement and location of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the professors of the Mykolayiv Center of Odesa University was the developer of the concept of the so-called self-proclaimed "Mykolayiv People's Republic", but at the same time he continued to teach students courses on the basics of political science, public administration etc.”, he said.
"These and many other examples demonstrate that the russian federation systematically directed both attention and funding to the creation of a network of its agents to further destroy Ukraine from the inside," Taras Kremin emphasized.
"I re-read Yevgeny Hutsal's non-fiction series "The Horde Mentality" of 1994. Everything, what we are talking about, has been repeated in our history. For the author of the book, as well as for all of us, one thing is obvious: the indestructible evil returns by tragedies and troubles, occupied territories, lost opportunities, killed people, deported children, as well as "perspectives" offered to us by propagandists", - the Commissioner noted.
"Let's have a look at what’s been happening in the occupied Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk since 2014. There is nothing left of what’s related to Ukraine: equipment is taken away, people are deported, schools are destroyed and libraries are burned. Instead, citizens of the russian federation from distant territories were brought to the temporarily occupied territories where they’re mastering new landscapes in a colonialist way. This is not a hybrid war, this is a war of civilizations, in which we, having a better army and great international support, will definitely win!" he concluded.
